Joan Lanc and Deborah Dalheim
"Flowers"

Joan Lanc, a member of CNIB, has lived in Victoria for seven years. She moved from Hamilton, Ontario, and really enjoys everything Victoria has to offer, especially the gardening. Joan and her friend Deborah Dalheim decided to do a picture with flowers because of their shared love of gardening. Deborah Dalheim, who is sighted, enjoys working with people of various abilities in the community.

Experience Making This Piece:
Joan and Deborah did this project partially in memory of Don Milligan who was very special to both women. Don was a CNIB member who had a passion for the Tactile Colour projects but he never had a chance to complete a project of his own. Don passed away in August 2005.

Tactile Colour Used: raised line pink, rough gritty green, dashed line purple and soft bumpy orange.

Tactile Description:
This picture has been made on a pale blue card which is the smooth texture of white. It shows a dashed line purple vase at the bottom of the picture in the middle. The flowers are made in different directions of raised line pink and rough gritty green leaves and stems. Try and find the flower that does not have a stem, one flower which has two stems, and the soft bumpy orange butterfly.
